Fitness Addicts – they come in all shapes and sizes; the endurance athlete, the bodybuilder, the sprinter, the yoga fanatic, the powerlifter, the cross-fitter, the bikini model, the tennis player. The list doesn’t end there. While it’s true that the global obsession for a fit lifestyle is divided into countless sub-sections, there’s ONE common thread that ties it all together. The entire fitness community shares a thirst for knowledge, a desire to understand supplementation, nutrition and its infinite powers.
I’d like to tell you about an organization called the International Society of Sports Nutrition, a non-profit society dedicated to promoting the science and application of evidence-based sports nutrition and supplementation. Over the years I’ve enjoyed friendships with a handful of ISSN members, including Dr. Jose Antonio and Dr. Doug Kalman, two of the men who helped co-found the organization back in 2003.
Over the years the ISSN has grown into one of the most respected communities of nutrition & supplement minded experts in the world. Each year, the ISSN holds its annual convention, a gathering of many of the most respected members of the sports nutrition community.
And here’s the cool part. You don’t have to be a genius to attend!!!
If you’re as serious about fitness as you say you are, it might be worth joining the ISSN. Their annual convention is the weekend of June 9 – 11 in Clearwater, Florida. I’m also pleased to report that DigitalMuscle.com will serve as the media sponsor of this year’s convention!
