Fit Recipe: Protein French Toast

Here in my DigitalMuscle.com recipe blog we’ve made waffles, pancakes, and super delicious versions of each… but what about French toast??? Well, that day is here ya’ll!!!! Today, we are making Protein French toast!

What you will need:

2 cups egg whites

½ scoop beautyfit vanilla vixen (www.beautyfit.com use code stef20 to save)

3 packets stevia

6 slices light honey wheat bread (you can also use Ezekiel bread, p28 bread, any kind you like!)

1 tbsp. cinnamon

Heat a large skillet sprayed with coconut nonstick spray over medium heat. In a wide rectangular dish (you are going to need to fit your bread in this dish) pour your egg whites, beauty whey, stevia, and cinnamon. Wisk with fork until it creates an even mixture. (it will not mix completely; you will still see the cinnamon and a little of the protein powder separate; don’t worry though this makes it even more delicious!)

NOTE: I cook 3 slices at a time; depending on the size of your skillet only soak the amount of bread you can immediately place in the pan… otherwise the bread will absorb too much egg and become soggy.

Dip bread in egg mixture, letting bread sit in egg for only a few seconds at a time. Immediately place in skillet. Cook approximate 2 min each side.

Slice French toast in half and align on a plate. Sprinkle a little beauty whey (or your favorite protein) over top the toast while still warm to create a “powdered sugar.”

There you have it!!! A delicious, nutritious breakfast! I love making this recipe for the holidays. When you have family in town, or for a fun treat for the kids, this French toast is sure to impress! The best part, it literally takes about 15 min to make with little mess… totally my style.
