Hi Guys, today we write from Tulum Mexico where we’ve just completed our Wilk Fitness/Yoga Vacation!
We had a blast thanks to the amazing people who attended! Thank you all! The energy was amazing and we can’t wait to do it again! We know all of you can’t wait for the next one as well!
Riviera Maya, the part of Mexico where we stayed is an awesome destination for anyone who enjoys world class all-inclusive resorts, but also likes to explore and stay active on vacation. Located on the Yucatan Peninsula just about an hour south of Cancun, it’s known for amazing year-round weather, nature, culture, great food and amazing white sand beaches.
We stayed close to Tulum, where you’ll find preserved Mayan Ruins, Yoga retreats and beautiful beaches! We come here often and definitely recommend it for anybody, but specially fitness nuts like us! It’s the perfect place to relax but also ideal for any kind of fitness activity! Beside the well-equipped gyms at the resorts, you’ll also find great gyms, cross fit boxes and yoga studios everywhere in Riviera Maya but especially in Playa del Carmen.
Playa del Carmen is known for nightlife, great food, shopping and white sand beaches, but fitness is definitely popular here! While in Playa check out Fifth Avenue for shopping and nightlife. When you visit Riviera Maya we recommend you to checkout the ruins in Tulum and it’s beaches.
Must see are Cenotes-natural fresh water caves or the sinkholes formed millions of years ago. You can explore them by swimming in there! Amazing! If you have an extra day, check out Chichen Itza where you’ll find ruins as well as massive step pyramids known as El Castillo but the trip will take most of the day. If you’re looking more for night life Playa del Carmen or Cancun would be your choice. In all-inclusive resorts you’ll find amazing food and drinks but be careful with high calorie/sugar drinks like pina colada! Try the delicious sugar-free Tequila Mojito! Riviera Maya offers something for everyone.
Everybody who came on our fitness vacation enjoyed training and sunset yoga on the white sand beaches because it was different from a traditional gym workout. From time to time you should take your training outside the comfort zone for better results! Beach training offers exactly that and you would be surprised how challenging and rewarding it can be!
