The 2019 Mr. Olympia Weekend was full of surprises, celebrity appearances and fond memories however, one notable event brought The Upset of the Year, Canada’s Classic Physique Winner, Chris Bumstead who defeated Two-Time Defending Champion, Breon Ansley for the win!

This contest was one that no one wanted to miss! Chris was the 1st Runner-up a year ago and was fighting an uphill battle of Genetic Inferiority standing a whopping 6’1 compared to the well packaged and evenly proportioned 5’6, Breon Ansley who is basically a walking classic physique sculpture of a specimen.
As most Olympia contest go, this was supposed to be victory number three for Breon on paper anyway however, the Canadian Colossus, Chris Bumstead delivered what many felt was an upset of epic proportions in front of a Sold Out Orleans Arena!
Chris delivered the one- two punch when he held his ground on virtually every mandatory pose while posing epically to his music as he nailed classic poses that accentuated his longer limbs and tall proportions.
Chris had been working hard for this day to come. Training with the weight of an entire country on his back, Chris became only the second Canadian Olympia Winner besides former Masters Mr. Olympia Bodybuilding Champion, Claude Groulx from Montreal back in 2003. This contest was decided after a long hard fought prejudging and finals posing display that would bring the crowd to its feet, setting the stage for another epic showdown in 2020!
Chris became only the third person to win this title in the 4 years of its existence marking a historic victory to close out the decade!
